Locins is a private, non-commercial hobby project. These terms have been prepared to the best of our knowledge and do not constitute legal advice.
1. Scope & provider
These terms apply to the locins.com website and all services provided through it, including signing in with Locins. The providers are Jonas Degener · Charalampos Papadakis (see the Imprint for contact details). Locins is a private, non-commercial hobby project. By using it, you agree to these terms.
2. Services
Locins is an adventure platform; Locins is its identity layer, one login for the connected services. Use is currently free of charge. There is no entitlement to specific features, a particular quality, or continuous, uninterrupted availability. Some parts are still in development (marked “vision” or “roadmap”) and may change or be discontinued.
3. Account & registration
Many features require a Locins account. You provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be of legal age or have your guardians’ consent; to consent to data processing you must be at least 16. You can delete your account at any time.
4. Obligations & prohibited use
You agree not to misuse the services. Prohibited in particular: unlawful, abusive, discriminatory or youth-endangering content; infringing third-party rights (e.g. copyright, trademark, or personality rights); spam, malware, automated scraping, or overloading the systems; circumventing security measures; and impersonating someone else.
5. Your content & public profiles
Content you post (e.g. profile, public pages, posts) remains yours. You grant Locins a simple, revocable right to store it technically and display it within the service, such as your public profile. You alone are responsible for holding the necessary rights to your content and for not infringing others’ rights. Anything you make public is visible to others, consider what you share.
6. Moderation, suspension & deletion
We may remove content that violates these terms or applicable law, and may temporarily suspend or permanently delete accounts for violations, without prior notice in serious cases. You can report unlawful content via the contact channels listed in the Imprint; we review reports and act within a reasonable time.
7. Availability & changes to the service
The services are provided “as available” without any guarantee of uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages and limitations may occur. As Locins is a hobby project, individual features or the entire service may be changed, limited, or discontinued. We will try to inform you in good time of any material discontinuation and to let you export your data.
8. Liability
As Locins is offered free of charge, we are liable only for intent and gross negligence. For slight negligence we are liable solely for breach of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper use possible in the first place), limited to the foreseeable, typical damage. Liability for damage arising from injury to life, body or health and under the Product Liability Act remains unaffected. We give no guarantee against data loss, back up important data yourself. The respective operators of linked third-party sites are responsible for their content.
9. Data protection
How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy. By using the services, you confirm that you have taken note of it.
10. Developers & API (“Sign in with Locins”)
If you integrate Locins into your app, the following also applies: request only the scopes you actually need, and use user data solely for the purpose the user consented to. Keep tokens and client secrets secure, do not share them, and, as an independent controller, comply with applicable data protection law (GDPR). Do not place excessive load on the API and respect rate limits. In case of misuse or security risks we may suspend access at any time. The API is provided without warranty and without any assured service level, and may change.
11. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms, for example for new features or changed legal requirements. We will inform you of material changes in an appropriate manner, such as a notice in the service or by email. If you do not object within 30 days or continue to use the service, the amended terms are deemed accepted.
12. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies. Should individual provisions be invalid, the rest of the contract remains effective; the statutory rule takes the place of the invalid provision. Contact: hello@locins.com.
